Bluewater Federal supports the USAF at Maxwell AFB through the Base Maintenance (BMx) Family of Systems program. This initiative provides critical lifecycle support for enterprise U.S. Air Force logistics and maintenance systems, enabling global mission readiness and sustainment operations.
About the Role
As a Senior Legacy Systems Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for the sustainment, refactoring, and modernization of legacy IMDS/IMDS-MSM components and associated enterprise workflows. Your work ensures the preservation of operational stability, synchronization integrity, and maintenance history continuity while supporting the incremental modernization of legacy application capabilities.
You will evaluate modernization candidates, identify sequencing risks, and validate coexistence between legacy and modernized components. A key part of your day involves assisting with the migration of tightly coupled legacy workflows into modern architectures where operationally appropriate, while managing technical debt analysis and rollback planning during execution.
