About the Team

As a Capital One Machine Learning Engineer (MLE), you will join an Agile team dedicated to productionizing machine learning applications and systems at scale. Our mission is to bridge the gap between data science innovation and real-world business impact, ensuring that machine learning solutions are not only theoretically sound but also robust, scalable, and high-performing in production environments.

About the Role

This Senior Lead position sits at the intersection of Operations, Modeling, and Data Engineering. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of machine learning applications, from detailed technical design and development to implementation and maintenance. Your work will directly influence how we solve complex business problems by leveraging state-of-the-art big data and ML technologies.

In this role, you will lead cross-functional collaboration with Product and Data Science teams to architect and deliver ML models that drive value. You will guide infrastructure decisions, ensuring that model selection, data pipelines, and feature engineering align with both technical constraints and business goals. A key part of your day involves fostering a culture of excellence by reviewing code, automating testing and deployment, and ensuring that all ML initiatives adhere to best practices in Responsible and Explainable AI.

As a leader, you will mentor teams developing ML solutions, driving the adoption of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) best practices. You will also play a pivotal role in monitoring and retraining models in production, ensuring they remain performant and resilient over time.
