The NEA Information Technology Services Department (ITS) is dedicated to supporting the organization's strategic objective of focusing the energy and resources of its 3 million members toward the promotion of public education. The team ensures the high-level safety of IT assets, protecting systems from intentional or inadvertent access, harm, or destruction in a dynamic environment.
This position serves as a critical guardian of the NEA's digital infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with departmental teams to ensure that new and existing infrastructure, software, hardware, architecture, and applications are developed and deployed in a secure manner. Your work involves assisting in the development and implementation of security standards, procedures, and guidelines across multiple platforms and diverse systems. You will be responsible for updating and maintaining security controls, managing security technology solutions (including encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection), and ensuring that requirements and deliverables are clearly defined. The role also includes analyzing security matters, preparing status reports, and monitoring technology performance to recommend corrective solutions.
