This Network Security (L3) position serves as a critical operational anchor for a large-scale customer environment, delivered through an implementation partnership with HCL America. The role is designed for a seasoned professional who will not only manage day-to-day security operations but also drive strategic improvements in efficiency, automation, and service quality.
You will act as a bridge between complex technical infrastructure and business outcomes, ensuring the resilience of network security architecture against evolving threats. This is a leadership-oriented individual contributor role where you will mentor a team of engineers, define best practices aligned with NIST and CIS standards, and serve as the primary escalation point for critical outages and complex authentication issues.
Your work will span the full spectrum of network security, from deep-dive troubleshooting of L3 outages to high-level architectural planning. You will spend significant time managing and tuning security policies across Checkpoint firewalls, Cloudflare WAF, and Zscaler Zero Trust solutions. A key part of your mission involves identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing automation scripts (Python, PowerShell) to streamline workflows across multiple customer environments.
Beyond technical execution, you will lead team development by conducting internal training, motivating certifications, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will regularly report on service delivery KPIs, risk status, and process gaps to senior management, ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders and maintaining a zero-escalation culture.
This is a contract opportunity available on a C2C or W2 basis (no H1B candidates). The role is based onsite in Dallas, TX.
Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 10-12 years of overall experience, with specific depth in Information Security and Security Operations Center (SOC) management. Industry-recognized certifications such as CCSA/CCSE or CCIE are highly desirable.
