Quad is seeking a high-level Industrial Electrician and Controls Specialist to support and modernize our web offset press and bindery platforms across North America and Latin America. This is a hands-on, expert position designed for a professional who can troubleshoot at a deep technical level, execute complex control retrofits, and ensure complex production environments maintain peak uptime.
In this role, you will serve as a critical link between legacy infrastructure and modern technology. You will lead retrofit and modernization projects, with a specific focus on transitioning legacy DC drive systems to state-of-the-art controls. Your work will directly impact production reliability, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring the highest standards of performance across multiple sites.
Your day will likely involve a mix of on-site engineering and remote diagnostics. You will troubleshoot and repair printing press and bindery control systems, often working under pressure to resolve issues that affect production schedules. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to executing engineering-level retrofits and supporting new installs and startups.
You will also provide real-time remote support to multiple plants, utilizing advanced connectivity tools to diagnose issues before they escalate. This role requires strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across different sites and teams, ensuring that technical solutions are implemented seamlessly throughout the organization.
This position requires extensive travel, approximately 30–40% within the U.S. and Latin America. You will be expected to travel to Quad sites across these regions to support operations, manage projects, and provide on-the-ground expertise.
