The University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Department of Radiology is a dynamic hub providing comprehensive imaging services across the hospital. Our team supports a wide range of patient needs, from adult and pediatric care to specialized procedures in the emergency department, operating room, and orthopedic clinic. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while advancing medical imaging through research and education.
We are seeking a Senior Imaging Technologist to serve as a clinical expert in CT and general radiography. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of advanced imaging equipment while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care. You will not only perform complex imaging procedures but also serve as a mentor, instructing trainees, students, and staff on equipment operation and safety protocols.
In this position, you will operate and troubleshoot computerized axial tomographic, angiographic, and magnetic resonance systems, ensuring minimal physician supervision is required for independent operation. Your day will involve a blend of technical expertise and patient interaction, from explaining examination processes and assisting with medical procedures to managing scheduling and quality assurance. You will also have the opportunity to participate in phantom, human, and animal research, contributing to the department's commitment to innovation.
