About the Role
As a CT Technologist, you come first at HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. You will operate Cat-Scan equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs in a safe manner, positioning patients and adjusting equipment for each examination. Your role involves instructing patients, performing data reconstruction and special processing, and evaluating scans for positioning and technique adequacy.
You will maintain acute awareness of patient conditions, perform first aid as necessary, and ensure all exams are entered appropriately for radiologist review. This role requires adhering to radiation safety standards, practicing sterile techniques to prevent cross-contamination, and reviewing patient charts for pertinent clinical history. You will also stay current with developments in diagnostic CT trends and techniques through continuous education.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOperate CT equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs and scans of designated body portions
- check_circlePosition patients and adjust equipment to correct positions for each examination
- check_circleSelect proper technical factors on an individual patient basis and instruct patients on procedures
- check_circlePerform reconstruction and special processing of CT Angio data
- check_circlePerform quality control functions and adhere to radiation safety standards
- check_circleReview current developments in diagnostic CT trends and techniques through education and conferences
- check_circleReview patient charts for clinical history and laboratory data to document for the Radiologist
- check_circleEvaluate completed radiographs and scans for positioning, technique, and examination adequacy
- check_circleDocument all medications used in the EMAR and receive verbal orders from practitioners
- check_circleRecord and maintain exam information in the CT log and document radiation doses in Meditech
- check_circlePractice sterile techniques, prevent cross-contamination, and maintain cleanliness of rooms and equipment
- check_circleObserve patients closely, perform first aid as necessary, and confer with physicians regarding exam conditions
Requirements
- verifiedAssociate Degree in Radiological Technology
- verifiedRegistered Radiographer (ARRT) (R)
- verifiedState of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist
- verifiedBasic Cardiac Life Support (within 30 days)
- verifiedCT certification (within 12 months)
