About the Role
The Senior Federal Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) serves as a technical integrator ensuring that system-to-system connections across federal boundaries are properly documented, approved, and compliant with all required cybersecurity and interoperability standards. Operating upstream of the Assess & Authorize (A&A) process, this role supports project teams during system design and throughout the connectivity approval lifecycle without participating in the A&A process itself.
You will collaborate with internal project teams, external agency partners, network engineers, and cybersecurity stakeholders to gather system connectivity details, manage Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM) documentation, support Authority to Connect (ATC) submissions, and assist with Line of Sight (LOS) testing. This position requires a deep understanding of boundary security requirements and interconnection standards to ensure alignment on connectivity requirements and timelines across federal agencies.
