We provide technical guidance in capability and capacity development for Security Operations Centers (SOCs), National Cyber Centers, and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs). We partner with federal agencies, academic institutions, foreign governments, private industry, and non-profit organizations to strengthen cybersecurity operations globally. Our work includes designing, evaluating, and improving mission performance through strategic and operational procedures, as well as developing innovative methods for measuring operational success.

About the Role

The ideal candidate demonstrates interest and experience in developing and executing strategic and operational cybersecurity procedures, as well as advancing the state of the art in cyber operations research and practice.

In this position, you will work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to conduct analytical studies involving risk, threat, and security data. You will apply your understanding of enterprise cybersecurity challenges to analyze current operational hurdles and evolving threats. A key part of your day will involve translating complex processes into clear, well-structured technical documentation and briefing strategic topics to senior leadership, technical audiences, and foreign government officials.

Your contributions will directly impact team deliverables, including technical publications, industry and government conference presentations, course development, direct customer engagement, and the creation of prototype tools and methodologies. You will engage international stakeholders with cultural awareness and professionalism, applying project planning methodologies to support program execution.

Why Join Us

Joining the CMU team opens the door to an array of exceptional benefits. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and dedicated experts to solve challenging problems for the government and the nation.
