Parexel is seeking a highly motivated and creative leader to drive our global events strategy and manage the events team. As the Senior Director of Events and Conferences, you will report directly to the SVP of Marketing & External Communications. This role is essential for connecting Parexel's key stakeholders with live programs, thought leadership, and content that engages, educates, and inspires participants worldwide.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end strategy, planning, execution, and management of high-quality events designed to achieve organizational goals, including lead generation, stakeholder engagement, and brand building. Success in this position requires a solutions-oriented approach, anticipating issues, integrating creative strategies, and proactively addressing requests from clients and senior leadership. Your mission is to develop compelling, innovative, and cohesive world-class experiences that advance Parexel's impact.
In this role, you will craft a comprehensive global strategy for external events that aligns with the organization's overarching objectives. You will lead the development of events with clear creative narratives, securing thought leadership opportunities and plenary experiences that elevate the event story. Beyond planning, you will act as a brand ambassador, ensuring every event reflects Parexel's identity and strategic priorities.
Your day will involve managing a high-performance team, overseeing production flows, and potentially providing onsite management for general sessions, including technical direction and rehearsals. You will also be accountable for flawless execution of complex events, managing global budgets, negotiating contracts, and analyzing cost-effectiveness and ROI. Additionally, you will lead structured post-event debriefs with executive stakeholders, synthesizing performance insights and attendee feedback into actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
We are looking for a leader with a minimum of fifteen years of meeting and convention planning experience, including leadership roles in strategic planning. Candidates should have a proven track record of bringing events to life from concept to completion and experience working with production companies on medium-to-large-scale conferences (1,000+ participants).
