Raytheon's Surface Radars and Sensors (SR&S) Center in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support Digital Radar test activities. This role is critical for evaluating system functionality, assessing algorithm and software performance, and troubleshooting the root causes of anomalies in advanced radar capabilities. You will work at the intersection of hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), and field environments, utilizing deep radar-domain expertise to drive verification strategies for software builds.
In this position, you will plan and execute radar test events, performing comprehensive data analyses to evaluate performance in detection, tracking, discrimination, and engagement. You will collaborate closely with systems, software, and algorithm engineers while also working independently to contribute to requirements validation, technical reviews, and preparation for Flight Test events. The role involves generating and interpreting modeling and simulation scenarios to predict radar performance and comparing modeled results to Flight Test truth data. You will also support real-time and near-real-time field analysis during test events, providing reach-back to development teams and advising mission leadership on radar system status.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid, or remote. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted, though business necessity may require adjustments to this timeline.
