Self-Help was founded in 1980 with a focus on economic inequality, particularly in communities that have faced systemic barriers to building wealth. At our core is a drive to create and protect ownership and economic opportunity. We are committed to economic justice, which means ensuring all communities have the basic infrastructure they need to thrive—from high-quality schools to grocery stores selling fresh foods. These resources support opportunity at the neighborhood level, regardless of demographics, income, or wealth.
Since our founding, we have constantly sought new ways to pursue greater economic justice, ranging from providing fair and affordable loans to working with partners to demand that lawmakers change unjust policies.
This position serves as a bridge between data, systems, and our mission of economic inclusion. You will prepare complex data on lending and financial services to support funder proposals and reports, while providing analysis to operational teams to improve business performance and decision-making. Your work will involve analyzing cost-benefit trade-offs and prioritizing data projects that drive impact.
Beyond data, you will act as a change agent to drive Self-Help's economic inclusion initiatives. This includes integrating supplier diversity and the use of businesses owned by women and people of color into third-party contracting and vendor management. You will review business processes to identify efficiency improvements, work with DIG engineers to develop practical solutions, and manage systems projects from conception to delivery, ensuring they meet business needs, deadlines, and budgets.
We are looking for individuals who share our commitment to creating economic opportunity for traditionally underserved communities. We prioritize teamwork and collaboration, and we expect our team members to demonstrate our Core Values: Mission Before Self, Service With Excellence, Embracing & Promoting Change, Results Not Credit, Diversity as a Strength, and Financial Sustainability for Mission Impact.
Self-Help is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We provide equal employment opportunities to all persons, regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, gender, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, military and veteran status, or family status.
