About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Senior Backend Engineer to join one of our clients in a fully remote contract capacity. In this role, you will partner with senior engineers to design, build, test, and optimize scalable backend services and data-driven applications. Your work will focus on developing RESTful APIs using Java and Python, while contributing to data processing workflows using Databricks and SQL.

You will gain hands-on experience in microservices architecture, cloud environments, and modern DevOps practices. The day-to-day involves troubleshooting production issues, improving system performance, and collaborating cross-functionally to solve complex problems. This position offers the opportunity to work within Azure or AWS environments, utilizing tools like Kubernetes, Redis, and Apigee to support high-traffic mobile commerce solutions.

This is a fully remote contract position estimated to begin in June 2026 and end in August 2026. Candidates must be located in the United States and be able to work as an independent contractor (no C2C).
