About the Role

We are seeking a highly technical and strategic Director of Engineering to serve as the effective "Head of Engineering" for our global team. This role sits at the intersection of deep technical expertise and high-level organizational leadership. You will own the engineering execution, systems thinking, technical direction, and team structure for a globally distributed organization of approximately 16 members.

This position is designed for a leader who is 60-70% technical and 30-40% cross-functional management. You will operate as a strategic and conceptual leader rather than a purely execution-focused manager, helping to define and scale the next phase of the engineering organization following a recent executive restructuring. You will partner closely with Product, Finance, and executive leadership to drive AI adoption, manage engineering budgets, and guide API and infrastructure strategy, particularly within enterprise or regulated environments.
