About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support month-end close, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations for a manufacturing-focused organization. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional who can independently manage core accounting processes, ensuring accuracy across the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
You will work directly with the CFO and cross-functional teams to maintain the integrity of financial data. The position offers the opportunity to own the full accounting cycle within a stable, manufacturing environment, handling everything from vendor invoice processing and cash receipt reconciliation to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Work Environment
This is a fully onsite position located in Chicago, IL (ZIP 60632). We are looking for candidates who can commute within approximately 45 minutes of the office. The role requires a high level of focus and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities while adhering to strict internal controls and accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- check_circleExecute month-end close process ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- check_circleMaintain and post journal entries with accuracy to the general ledger
- check_circleProcess vendor invoices using 3-way match and manage vendor accounts

- check_circleAssist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- check_circleWork extensively in MAS 90 / Sage 100 ERP to generate financial reports

Requirements

Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-heavy environments. Crystal Reports experience. Exposure to ERP reporting tools and financial reporting systems.
