The Security Monitor 2 serves as a critical frontline defender within a high-security environment. This role exists to protect sensitive assets, personnel, and infrastructure by maintaining rigorous surveillance and access control protocols. You will be the eyes and ears of the base, responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling the premises, and ensuring the integrity of the security infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses strong situational awareness and the ability to assess and respond to potential threats with precision and calm.
In this position, you will work within a dynamic team where vigilance is paramount. Your day involves continuously scanning for unauthorized access or suspicious activity while conducting regular perimeter checks and facility inspections. You will verify credentials for military personnel, contractors, and visitors, enforcing strict access control procedures to prevent unauthorized entry or removal of restricted materials. When incidents occur, you are expected to respond quickly to alarms and disturbances, assess the situation, and mitigate threats in accordance with established protocols. Accuracy in documentation is equally vital; you will track and log all observations, prepare detailed incident reports, and provide thorough briefings during shift changes to ensure seamless operational continuity.
Candidates must possess a Top Secret SCI W/ CI Poly clearance. The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of security monitoring experience in a high-security environment. Additionally, Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) training is required for Virginia and Maryland within 90 days of entering on duty.
