About the Role

This full-time Security position is vital to maintaining safety and order at the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market. The role involves guarding, patrolling, and monitoring premises to prevent theft, violence, and rule infractions. You will serve as the first line of defense, protecting the property from theft, fire, and accidents while ensuring the security of doors, windows, and gates.

Day in the Life

Your day will be highly active, requiring you to regularly patrol both the warehouse and outdoor areas to maintain a visible presence and deter suspicious activity. You will monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles and people, investigate alarms, and assess situations as they arise. A key part of your duties involves investigating suspicious activities, writing detailed reports on incidents, and assisting customers, employees, and visitors according to department procedures. You will also be responsible for warning individuals of rule violations and escorting or evicting violators from the premises.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a combination of normal office, outdoor, and warehouse environments. You will frequently patrol outside in extreme weather conditions and work within a warehouse setting where you may be exposed to moving machinery. The role is physically demanding, requiring regular standing, walking, talking, and listening. Hours vary depending on the assigned shift, and flexibility is required to work weekends if needed for shift coverage.
