This position serves as the dedicated safety and security presence within Harmons' stores, ensuring the well-being of customers, associates, facilities, and merchandise. The role is mission-driven, focusing on maintaining a secure environment while delivering exceptional customer service. You will act as a key liaison between store operations, risk management, and law enforcement, ensuring that safety and security procedures are consistently followed and that the store remains a safe place for everyone.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of proactive monitoring and responsive action. You will conduct weekly walks through every department to visually inspect for safety and security concerns, from fire extinguisher compliance to identifying potential theft risks on the sales floor. A significant part of your responsibility involves operating the security camera system, reviewing footage, and delivering video surveillance to risk management when requested for insurance or security investigations.
You will also play an active role in the store's safety culture by attending monthly safety committee meetings, assisting the safety committee chairperson, and helping associates direct safety concerns to the appropriate management channels. Whether you are interacting with law enforcement regarding incidents, resolving conflicts professionally, or simply ensuring a positive atmosphere for shoppers, your presence is vital to the store's overall success.
