About the Role

This position is your chance to play a vital role in maintaining the infrastructure that connects our communities. You will supervise highway, facility, and equipment maintenance activities within the Devils Lake District and East Section. Your day will involve ensuring that highways, the Devils Lake to Fort Totten shared use path, facilities, and equipment are kept in top condition.

You will be the operational leader on the ground, responding to roadway emergencies and assigning staff and equipment to critical projects. This role requires close collaboration with the Devils Lake West Section supervisor to ensure shared equipment is up to date on routine maintenance. You will also assist in the installation, inspection, and repair of signs, guardrails, and attenuation devices, while overseeing the operation of necessary maintenance equipment.

Beyond the physical maintenance, you will serve as a key administrative leader. You will assist in interviewing and hiring staff, assign tasks, and serve as the initial point of contact for the Hefti Rest Area caretaker regarding maintenance issues. Conducting employee safety meetings and handling personnel issues will be a regular part of your responsibilities, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

Candidates will be scored on a 100-point candidate questionnaire to be considered for interviews. Please note that application materials are not considered in this scoring; you must provide detailed responses to the questionnaire. Employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing the interview process, a required drug test, job function screening, reference check, and driving records check.
