The Watson Chapel School District (WCSD) is dedicated to fostering a student-centered environment where academic excellence and positive school culture thrive. We seek leaders who are committed to collaborative growth and the continuous improvement of our educational systems.
The Secondary Assistant Principal serves as a vital partner to the Building Principal, acting as an instructional leader who ensures high levels of student achievement. This role is central to the daily operations of the school, bridging the gap between district initiatives and classroom reality.
In this position, you will support the implementation of a guaranteed and viable curriculum aligned with Arkansas Academic Standards. Your day will involve conducting classroom observations to provide actionable coaching, facilitating Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and utilizing data to drive instructional improvements. Beyond academics, you will play a key role in cultivating a safe, inclusive, and restorative school culture by managing student discipline, overseeing safety protocols, and supporting student engagement.
You will also lead personnel growth by supervising staff, participating in recruitment, and mentoring new teachers. The role requires balancing operational duties—such as schedule management and budget monitoring—with deep community engagement, ensuring strong partnerships between families, staff, and the broader community.
Candidates selected for an interview will be evaluated based on their alignment with the district's mission and their demonstrated competencies in instructional leadership and systems thinking. Final selection will be made by the Superintendent, who reserves the right to keep the position open until a suitable candidate is found.
The Watson Chapel School District is an equal opportunity employer. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
