As a Second Grade Teacher within USD 259, you will serve as a vital link in the educational journey of young learners. This position is dedicated to teaching and facilitating learning while maintaining academic progress, discipline, and accurate records for students in grades K-5. The role exists to ensure that every student receives a high-quality education that meets their unique needs through a supportive and structured classroom environment.
You will work directly under the supervision of the department supervisor, collaborating with a diverse population of students, parents, and colleagues. Success in this role requires the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy while maintaining a positive attitude. Your day will involve providing direct instruction using current best practices, creating effective lesson plans, and communicating clear objectives to students and families. You will also partner with Special Education and ESOL teachers to implement necessary modifications, ensuring an inclusive learning atmosphere.
Beyond the classroom, you will be expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner. This includes scheduling periodic meetings with parents to discuss progress, supervising common areas to support the school's mission, and participating in faculty meetings and professional development workshops. You will also assist with additional duties as assigned by supervisors, contributing to the broader goals of the district.
