As a member of the Office of Health and Wellness, the SEAD Instructional Program Developer plays a pivotal role in the Boston Public Schools (BPS) mission to ensure all learners succeed. This position focuses on enhancing the capacity of teachers, paraprofessionals, and school administrators to deliver instruction that builds students' social-emotional skills. The goal is to foster a deep sense of engagement and ownership of learning among students across the district.
Reporting to the Director of Social Emotional Learning and Instruction, this role serves as a system-wide support mechanism for BPS. The SEAD Program Developer provides professional development, coaching, and technical assistance to principals and school-based teams. The day-to-day work involves designing resources and professional development opportunities to integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) programming across the district. You will partner with various departments and organizations to close achievement and opportunity gaps, ensuring a transformative SEL approach that aligns with high-quality instructional frameworks. The role requires active participation in cross-functional teams and the use of data tools to inform coaching practices and ensure strong fidelity of implementation.

Master's Degree. Experience working as an instructional coach teacher, education specialist, or coordinator. Experience in developing and designing instructional materials to support SEL. Experience developing and presenting professional development opportunities. Experience teaching or working in an urban setting. Competence in more than one language. Special education/ELL credential, experience, and/or expertise. Strong background with Boston Public Schools' curricula.
