About the Role

As a Scientist II, you will independently design, plan, and execute experiments to drive defined objectives within our research mission. This role is pivotal in advancing drug development decision-making through applied data science and the enhancement of clinical, biomarker, and genomic datasets. You will initiate and carry out the full process for assay development, optimization, and validation, leveraging your scientific expertise to understand drug candidate modes of action.

Your day-to-day involves a dynamic blend of independent research and collaborative problem-solving. You will work within a highly matrixed environment, supporting multiple projects simultaneously while troubleshooting experimental procedures. Beyond the bench, you will prepare technical reports, publications, and oral presentations, and provide training and guidance to laboratory personnel when needed. You will also play a key role in maintaining laboratory infrastructure, from routine equipment maintenance to managing inventory and ordering consumables to ensure continuous supply.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleCulture cell lines and process primary tissues from different species
  • check_circleIdentify and optimize innovative assays for molecular or cellular biomarker discovery
  • check_circleUtilize molecular techniques to understand drug candidate mode of action
  • check_circleTroubleshoot experimental procedures and provide training to laboratory personnel
  • check_circleOrder laboratory consumables and maintain inventory levels of supplies
  • check_circlePerform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • check_circleConduct laboratory experiments, data analysis, and general laboratory stock maintenance
  • check_circleDesign, plan, and execute experiments independently to achieve defined scientific objectives

Requirements

Nice to Have

Practical experience with general molecular biology techniques such as qPCR and nucleic acid extraction from tissues and cells. Experience with technologies and instrumentation such as Quant Studio 12K Flex, MSD, Protein WES, Qubit, Nanodrop, 10X Genomics, BioMek i7, Agilent Tapestation and Illumina sequencing platforms.
