The Penns Valley Area School District is seeking a dedicated School Police Officer to serve as a vital partner in maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for students, staff, and visitors. This 10-month, approximately 210-day position is more than a security role; it is a community-focused position designed to enforce good order while building positive relationships through mentoring and respectful interactions.
As an armed officer, you will patrol school properties, district transportation, and surrounding areas to identify and mitigate risks. Your day will involve a blend of proactive security monitoring, law enforcement duties, and educational engagement. You will act as a liaison between the district and local law enforcement, participate in safety drills, and deliver age-appropriate lessons on critical topics such as bullying, substance abuse, and crisis response. This role requires a unique balance of law enforcement authority and the ability to connect with adolescents, ensuring that safety measures are implemented with care and understanding.
Candidates must submit their application by May 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The position is located at Penns Valley High School and reports directly to the Superintendent or their designee. Interested applicants should ensure they meet all statutory training requirements, including Pennsylvania Act 120 and Act 67 of 2019, prior to application.
