As a School Security Officer for Dallas ISD, you will serve as a vital link between the school community and public safety. Your primary mission is to maintain a secure, orderly, and welcoming environment where students can learn and grow. This role requires a professional demeanor that fosters positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members while enforcing school rules and ensuring the safety of everyone on campus.
You will be the first line of defense in monitoring campus activities, from controlling traffic and parking to screening individuals and preventing prohibited items from entering school areas. The position involves active engagement with the school community, including attending extracurricular activities and graduations to provide supervision. You will also be responsible for investigating complaints, documenting incidents such as vandalism or theft, and assisting law enforcement when necessary.
This is a campus-based position that requires regular and punctual attendance at the worksite; remote work is not an option. The role involves travel throughout the district and typically operates in a moderate noise level environment. You must be flexible enough to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world and remain current with the latest developments in school security.
