This is a 10-month, grant-funded position dedicated to providing critical mental health support to middle and high school students. The role exists to deliver a full continuum of behavioral and mental health services, ensuring students receive the care they need to thrive academically and personally.
You will serve as a key member of the district's mental health team, working under the direction of district administration to provide supportive and direct services to students and families. Your work will focus on assessment, diagnostic evaluation, counseling, and psychotherapeutic treatment. Beyond direct clinical care, you will act as an educational consultant to school staff, community agencies, and the public, supporting the district's implementation of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and School Mental Health policies.
In this role, you will provide individual and small group counseling across three school sites. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to delivering the Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) intervention. This evidence-based, small-group program is designed for adolescents ages 12–21 who have experienced chronic interpersonal trauma, live with significant stressors, or exhibit functional impairments.
Using a strengths-based approach, you will guide groups of 10–12 students through a 16-week curriculum that integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Adaptive Recovery (TARGET), and Trauma and Grief Component Therapy (TGCT-A). Your goal is to help these young people enhance their coping skills, make mindful choices, and manage stress and conflict in productive ways.
Your daily responsibilities will also include conducting initial intake and diagnostic assessments (including suicide, threat, and substance abuse screenings), developing and monitoring individual treatment plans, and linking students to necessary community resources. You will actively contribute to multidisciplinary teams, including SEL, behavior support, and IEP meetings, while implementing protocols for students re-entering school after acute or residential mental health treatment. You will also provide training and consultation to school staff and manage all necessary documentation and data submission for reimbursement.
