About the Role

As a Part Time School Bus Driver for the Rome City School District, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. You will start students' days with morning pickups before school and transport them safely back home in the afternoon. Additional hours for field trips and special event transportation may be available.

This role is perfect for retirees looking for supplemental income, stay-at-home parents seeking daytime work, veterans transitioning into civilian roles, or anyone seeking a second career with a flexible schedule. No prior experience is necessary; we provide expert training and guidance to help you become a safe and professional driver. You will be a trusted figure for students and families, demonstrating leadership and customer service skills while maintaining order and safety on the bus.

Hiring Process and Application

To join our team, please apply directly through our career portal. We offer a sign-on bonus of $3,000 for fully credentialed drivers and $1,000 for new drivers (conditions apply; offer effective through 6/30/26). We provide Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training for qualified candidates.

DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
