The 2nd Shift Saw / Fabrication position is a vital component of our manufacturing operations, dedicated to setting up and operating saws and related metal fabrication equipment. This role ensures that materials and cut parts consistently meet engineering specifications for quality, fit, form, and function. By maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment, team members directly support production goals and uphold the integrity of our manufacturing processes.
Your day begins by interpreting blueprints, drawings, and shop orders to determine machine setups and production sequences. You will operate saws and fabrication equipment, handling raw materials and finished products to support daily production needs. Throughout the shift, you will perform quality checks using measuring tools like calipers and tape measures, ensuring every piece meets strict tolerances.
Beyond operation, the role involves active maintenance of the workspace and equipment, including blade changes, scrap removal, and coolant system filling. You will collaborate closely with leads, technicians, and supervisors to coordinate workflow and address any issues regarding materials or product quality. The environment requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and navigate the facility while adhering to strict safety protocols, including the use of steel-toed shoes, eye protection, and hearing safety gear.
This position operates on a Monday–Thursday schedule from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM. While the core shift is fixed, occasional approved overtime and weekend work may be required to meet production demands. The role takes place in a production environment characterized by machine noise and requires the ability to move throughout the facility unassisted.
