We are seeking a skilled, safety-minded, and motivated Saw Filer to join our team in Thomaston, Georgia. This Night Shift position is critical to maintaining the performance and precision of saws and related equipment, ensuring safe and efficient mill operations.
In this role, you will be the guardian of our cutting edge. Your day will involve a blend of precision craftsmanship and mechanical expertise, from leveling and tensioning saws to repairing blades according to strict customer and manufacturer specifications. You will operate a variety of sharpening machines and hand tools, performing tasks such as grinding band wheels, braze-welding cracks, and straightening twists in blades. Beyond the technical work, a demonstrated commitment to safety is paramount; you will adhere to all regulations, including lockout/tag-out procedures, while navigating varying seasonal climate conditions within the facility.
