Since 1971, MSI has been a leader in designing and building molds of exceptional accuracy and durability. Our mission is to lead the industry in the production of value-added plastic molds, serving customers across computer, medical diagnostics, sporting goods, appliance, and transportation sectors. We specialize in steel and aluminum molds for injection, structural foam, rim, blow, gas assist, and structural web processes.
MSI believes that developing new talent is a cornerstone of our future success. This internship program is designed to provide students with a unique opportunity to explore careers in Advanced Manufacturing. Through hands-on learning experiences at our facilities, interns will develop the interpersonal and technical skill sets necessary to thrive in today's workforce.
The program offers flexible hours that accommodate school workloads and extracurricular activities. While participation does not guarantee regular employment upon completion, it serves as a critical evaluation period for both the intern and the company to assess work ethic, skill growth, and cultural fit.
Internship tasks are tailored to your educational background and age, with a focus on building a strong foundation in mold making and manufacturing processes.
High School Interns First-year high school interns are exposed to all areas of MSI's production and engineering departments. Tasks are designed to be valuable to the organization without directly operating heavy machinery. You may assist with electrode mounting, setups, maintenance work, and print scanning. The primary goal is to evaluate your work ethic and basic abilities relative to the skills needed in Advanced Manufacturing.
College Interns
Advancement to more difficult tasks is based on the growth of your skill set and the attitude you demonstrate. MSI places equal importance on technical abilities and a positive "can-do" attitude, including punctuality, effective communication, and a willingness to learn.
MSI reinforces the importance of formal education by offering financial assistance to interns accepted into approved Advanced Manufacturing-related programs. Eligible students may receive payments for tuition, fees, and books, subject to a grade of "B" or above and 90% classroom attendance. The annual reimbursement is limited to $5,250 for undergraduate degrees, subject to IRS guidelines.
To apply, students must be entering their senior year of high school or older, or be accepted into an approved Advanced Manufacturing college program. Interns under the age of 18 must have a parent co-sign the internship agreement. Interested candidates should review the program details and submit their application to join our team of future manufacturing leaders.
