About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced SAP Systems Engineering Specialist for an immediate contract role with a direct client in New York, NY. This position is critical to reinforcing the ERP Project's capacity in Systems Engineering, focusing on the ongoing design, build, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's SAP ERP landscape.
The role encompasses a hybrid environment, managing the complex On-Premise SAP systems while driving the integration of select SAP Cloud applications and solutions. Reporting to the ERPSD Basis staff, the specialist will serve as a technical anchor for both the stability of current operations and the strategic evolution toward cloud-native architectures.
About the Role
In this capacity, you will bridge the gap between traditional on-premise infrastructure and modern cloud ecosystems. Your day-to-day will involve providing deep technical expertise across a broad spectrum of SAP technologies, including ECC, HANA, BW, Fiori, and various integration platforms like PI and SRM.
You will lead the architectural assessment and implementation of SAP Cloud-based solutions, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with existing on-premise systems following SaaS and PaaS models. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to production support, managing system upgrades, patching, landscape maintenance, and HANA administration. You will also be responsible for optimizing SAP NetWeaver security standards to ensure secure communication across distributed systems and data storage networks.
Beyond technical execution, you will collaborate closely with the ERP functional team to drive system performance monitoring, testing, and tuning. You will play a key role in designing High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions for enterprise applications in public, private, or hybrid cloud environments, and lead the planning for potential migrations of on-premise systems into SAP's Cloud infrastructure.
