We are seeking a Senior SAP Manufacturing & Production Planning Functional Specialist to serve as a critical bridge between complex manufacturing business processes and our SAP technical landscape. This role is not merely a configuration task; it is a strategic business process function comparable to a Senior Business Analyst or Product Owner, but with deep, specialized SAP expertise.
The ideal candidate will operate independently, leading conversations with stakeholders and translating real-world manufacturing planning needs into precise SAP requirements for our ABAP development teams. You will own the 'plant-to-produce' lifecycle, defining workflows and ensuring our system configurations align with how plants actually operate on the ground.
Your work will span the full project lifecycle. You will gather detailed requirements from business users, design functional solutions, and partner closely with technical teams to deliver robust implementations. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to supporting system testing, leading functional testing scenarios tied to manufacturing realities, and guiding divisions through deployment, training, and hypercare periods. You are expected to be a 'ready-to-go' expert who can hit the ground running without extensive training.
We value strong communication skills, as success in this role requires seamless collaboration between business users and technical teams. We are looking for individuals who bring a senior-level perspective (7+ years of experience) and a proven track record of managing SAP implementations or migrations. While S/4HANA experience is preferred, we welcome candidates with deep ECC backgrounds who can adapt quickly.
Candidates must be prepared to demonstrate their expertise immediately. We are looking for specialists who can show, not just tell, their ability to manage the system and navigate the nuances of discrete or process manufacturing environments.
This is a full-time, direct-hire position based in Cleveland, OH (highly preferred), with flexibility for Cary, NC, or Chicago, IL. The role requires a hybrid work model with 4 days per week in the office.

Experience with S/4HANA (S4 preferred over ECC). Discrete manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Experience across both discrete and process manufacturing. Background supporting large, multiplant environments. Exposure to global ERP rollouts.
