This position is designed to facilitate the full sales cycle within the Acute Care space, with a specific focus on the Sterile Processing Environment. You will act as a strategic partner to healthcare facilities, equipment dealers, and medical product suppliers, responsible for prospecting, establishing meaningful relationships, and closing deals across your assigned territory. Beyond new business generation, the role demands a commitment to managing current accounts, ensuring business retention, and identifying opportunities to cross-sell new products and services.
The day-to-day involves a dynamic blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution. You will develop medium- to long-term sales strategies to protect and grow relationships with targeted customers. This includes identifying prospective leads through directories, client referrals, and industry conferences, then qualifying them through direct outreach. A significant portion of the role is dedicated to understanding the specific pain points of prospects to tailor solutions, followed by delivering compelling presentations, product demonstrations, and bids. Once a sale is secured, your focus shifts to post-close activities, including customer onboarding, support, and retention, ensuring a positive experience from the initial contact through contract renewal.
Success in this role requires a deep knowledge of Medline's product catalog and value-added programs, alongside a keen awareness of market conditions, innovations, and competitor activities. You will be expected to navigate the complexities of the medical industry, educating customers on current trends and regulations while maintaining financial acumen to manage contract figures and pricing effectively.
This is a field-based role that requires significant mobility. The position involves driving 80% of each day within the state and potentially out of state to visit medical facilities and offices. The work environment includes a mix of office settings and clinical locations such as operating rooms and sterile processing departments. Due to the nature of in-services and customer needs, the role may require non-traditional work hours, including weekends and multiple shifts.
