About Year Up United

Year Up United is an intensive, one-year or less job training program designed to empower young adults with the skills and support needed to launch professional careers. The program combines in-classroom skill development with access to internships and personalized coaching and mentorship. Through our industry-leading talent placement firm, YUPRO Placement, participants gain access to internships at leading organizations in the Providence area, including Citizens, Amica Mutual Insurance Company, Lifespan, and Fidelity.

The Experience

Participants receive a comprehensive education in both technical and professional domains. In-depth classes cover Business Operations, IT Support, Financial Operations, Banking, Project Management, and Network Security & Support. Beyond the classroom, students develop professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking strategies, and resume-building expertise. Throughout the program, students receive ongoing support and guidance to help them transition into the workforce.

During the internship phase, Year Up United students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week. The program is designed for highly motivated individuals who are available Monday through Friday and have not yet obtained a Bachelor's degree. Graduates of the program see significant success: 72% are employed and/or enrolled in postsecondary education within four months of graduation, with employed graduates earning an average starting salary of $53,000 per year.
