The Risk Management department plays a critical role in safeguarding employees by implementing comprehensive safety programs and ensuring compliance with federal standards. This team works closely with the Safety and Training Officer to foster a culture of safety across all county operations.
This position serves as a vital support pillar for the County’s Safety Program, with a primary focus on the Respiratory Protection Program. You will perform technical work dedicated to protecting life and safety by assessing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needs and conducting fit testing for emergency service personnel and other county employees. Your work ensures that every employee who requires respiratory protection is properly fitted and trained in accordance with OSHA standards.
In this role, you will be the bridge between technical safety requirements and the daily needs of county staff. You will manage the entire fit testing process, from operating and maintaining testing equipment to analyzing active graphs and ensuring accurate data tracking. Beyond testing, you will develop and deliver high-quality safety training in both in-person and online formats, evaluating the effectiveness of these programs to continuously improve county safety protocols.

Proper precautions are essential, and your role is instrumental in mitigating these risks through rigorous adherence to safety protocols and equipment maintenance.
