About the Role
As a Route Driver, you will serve as the face of Spee Dee Delivery, representing our values while managing the timely delivery and pickup of freight. This role is essential to our operations, ensuring that packages move efficiently from shippers to customers. You will work independently, utilizing strong customer service skills to interact with clients and manage your route effectively.
The position involves a dynamic day-to-day routine: loading the truck in an organized manner to maximize space and prevent damage, verifying shipping papers, and collecting payments where required. You will also be responsible for inspecting the vehicle for mechanical issues and maintaining a professional appearance and clean vehicle. The role requires versatility, as you may handle diverse freight types including hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
