About the Role
This position serves as a critical guardian of patient privacy and a facilitator of efficient healthcare operations. You will be responsible for processing all release of information requests with a focus on timeliness, accuracy, and the highest quality of customer service. In this role, you will safeguard the patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals access medical information and that all releases strictly comply with requests, authorizations, company policies, and HIPAA regulations.
Your day-to-day involves retrieving and scanning medical charts, validating authorizations, and performing rigorous quality checks to ensure confidentiality and proper invoicing. You will act as a proactive customer service representative, addressing inquiries via mail, telephone, and fax while maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Success in this role requires balancing efficiency with a conscientious approach to privileged information, ensuring that medical records are released accurately and effectively in accordance with state laws and federal regulations.
