Key Responsibilities
- check_circleSchedule new and follow-up appointments for patients and providers via phone and MyChart
- check_circleAssist patients with MyChart activation and online self-check-in procedures
- check_circleMaintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with health system policies
- check_circleManage front desk operations including greeting patients and processing check-ins
- check_circleSupport clinical teams by preparing patient records and rooming patients
- check_circleCollaborate with ancillary departments for transport, lab, and radiology services
- check_circleCollect copays, co-insurance, and deductibles at the point of service
- check_circleCoordinate patient itineraries involving multiple appointments and referrals
- check_circleEnter and process medical orders, referrals, and pre-certifications in the EMR
- check_circleManage departmental scheduling inbaskets, voicemails, and outgoing calls
- check_circleStock supplies and maintain equipment such as printers, fax machines, and copiers
- check_circleVerify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and pre-authorization requirements
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Graduate or GED
- verifiedSix months direct customer service in a health care field
- verifiedFluent English
- verifiedBasic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
Nice to Have
College coursework completed towards an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree. 1 or more years direct customer service in a health care, hospital or contact center environment.
