The Plumbing Installer/Tradesman is a hands-on professional dedicated to routing pipes and water lines for new residential and multi-family homes. This role is central to the construction process, ensuring that waste, gas, and water systems are installed correctly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is motivated, organized, and eager to master all aspects of plumbing installation, from strapping pipes and running condensation lines to soldering copper and installing PEX systems.
You will work as part of a changing team, balancing the ability to work independently with a strong commitment to collaboration. The position requires a "can-do" attitude and a desire to contribute to a positive workplace culture while interacting professionally with customers and subcontractors.
This is an outdoor, field-based role subject to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Job sites can be loud and dusty, and the work often involves climbing, stooping, bending, and crawling. Installers may work in elevated areas up to three stories high and must be capable of lifting and carrying over 80 lbs at a time. The role demands physical stamina and a strict adherence to safety procedures.
This position serves as a foundation for advancement to the Journeyman level. Employees are encouraged to take ownership of their career development using the Field Skills Matrix and the Dozuki Standard Work App. To promote to Journeyman, candidates typically need 4-5 years of plumbing production install experience, along with strong organizational and communication skills. While 75% of the required skills for promotion are expected to be mastered on the job, the remaining 25% will be taught by the Field Supervisor.
Candidates are expected to be self-motivated and committed to arriving on time and ready to work. A key requirement for this role is owning your own basic plumbing tools and battery-operated tools, as the company supplies power tools. Applicants should be prepared to transport issued tools and ladders between job sites. Those with prior construction or plumbing experience, as well as PEX certification, are highly valued.
