As an RN in Surgery, you will join a culture of mutual respect and collaboration among all surgical staff. You will be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, consisting of providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, and more. Your day will involve evaluating patients prior to surgery, providing patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process, and assuming responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy and surgical site verification.
You will participate in surgical site verification protocols, recognize and respond to patient emergencies, and consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, and scientific judgment to independently deliver safe nursing care. You will assess patient conditions, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to round with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your voice is heard on suggestions for patient care and surgical workflow improvement.
To support your success, we offer self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance for predictability, along with continuous investment in equipment including surgical instruments, devices, and patient positioning to ensure patient safety and workflow efficiency in the Operating Room. On-call availability is required during select non-business hours.
If you find this opportunity compelling, we encourage you to apply for our RN Surgery opening. We promptly review all applications. Highly qualified candidates will be directly contacted by a member of our team. We are currently interviewing—apply today!
