Registered Nurses within this classification are accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care activities in accordance with OSUMC standards. The primary mission is to deliver efficient, effective, and quality patient care tailored to the specific age group served on the assigned unit. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan, the ability to interpret patient status data, and the skill to identify age-specific care requirements.
Nurses are expected to develop, modify, and implement comprehensive plans of care that align with OSUMC Patient Care policies and procedures. This role demands strict adherence to the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.
This full-time position offers a unique "Summers Off" scheduling program. Eligible nurses work a minimum of 20 pay periods (2-week cycles), during which they complete 7 shifts per cycle. This schedule allows nurses to work full-time hours and accumulate sufficient Paid Time Off (PTO) to cover benefits during the summer months, resulting in up to 6 pay periods off.
At the conclusion of the program, OSUMC may choose to extend the arrangement. If the program is not extended or offered, the position reverts to a standard schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week.
