Huntsville Hospital is a premier healthcare destination, recently named the Best Regional Hospital and #2 in Alabama by U.S. News & World Report. As a 971-bed facility, we feature a specialized Orthopedic & Spine Tower, a Level III Regional Neonatal ICU, and the largest Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center in the state, complete with our own specialized Red Shirt Trauma Program. We are also a certified Primary Stroke Center and recognized as one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the Nation for Great Heart Programs.
Our campus includes six cath labs, four EP labs, and multiple medical and step-down units, providing a dynamic environment where nurses can continually grow their skillsets. We are committed to professional development through an on-campus training center, a Shared Governance Program, and a Clinical Ladder. For new graduates, we offer a dedicated Nurse Residency Program to facilitate the transition from student to professional nurse.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be the cornerstone of patient care during your assigned shift. Your role involves identifying patient needs and priorities through comprehensive assessment, then planning and delegating care to ensure those needs are met. You will be accountable for the outcomes of the care delivered, continuously evaluating the patient's response and their progress toward expected health goals.
We welcome experienced nurses and new graduates alike. While experience is preferred, our robust Nurse Residency Program ensures new graduates receive the support needed to thrive. All RNs are required to obtain BLS certification before the conclusion of the orientation period and ACLS certification within one year of hire.
We care about your well-being and professional growth. Our commitment extends beyond clinical excellence to a supportive culture that values diversity and inclusion. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a partner to the U.S. Army's Partnership for Your Success (PaYS) program. Our benefits package is designed to support your life both inside and outside the hospital, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, disability options, and retirement accounts with a 401K match. Additional perks include tuition assistance, student loan reimbursement, an onsite employee pharmacy, a free health clinic, childcare, and employee discounts on local services and entertainment.
