This position offers a PRN (as needed) opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Room team at HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital. The role is centered on coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care that aligns with the specific requirements of the department and the scope of practice for the state and specialty.
In collaboration with medical providers and the broader care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The role serves as a vital advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling a commitment to the organization's vision and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
The day-to-day responsibilities include assessing and managing patient pain, performing procedures and monitoring as ordered, and documenting care in a timely and thorough manner. The RN is expected to respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving them proactively. A key component of the role involves educating patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle changes, translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding and preparing patients for future self-management.
