Since 1971, Wilmington Health has been committed to the care and health of our community in Wilmington as well as all of Southeastern North Carolina. Structured as a multi-specialty medical practice, we integrate primary care providers into our system to provide a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care. We are dedicated to using collaborative, evidence-based medicine to deliver the highest quality of care to the patients we serve.
As an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Registered Nurse, you will be a vital member of our team, coordinating and supervising patient care that reflects the unique needs of our patients, families, and facility. This role exists to ensure patient safety and optimize outcomes in a procedural environment, bridging the gap between pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery.
In this position, you will function as a self-starter and a supportive team member, utilizing your clinical judgment to make decisions regarding disease and surgical conditions. Your day will involve performing head-to-toe assessments, managing pain, and administering medications, including antibiotics and conscious sedation. You will assist physicians during procedures by scrubbing in, managing scopes, and maintaining aseptic techniques, while also ensuring accurate documentation and specimen labeling. Whether working full-time or part-time, you will be expected to demonstrate flexibility, maintain high productivity, and communicate effectively with the Director of Nursing and the recovery team.
Candidates must hold an active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina and possess certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. New hires will have three months to obtain ACLS certification if not already held. We look for individuals with one to three years of nursing practice experience, preferably in a peri-operative or operating room setting.

We are dedicated to treating everyone equally with respect regardless of race, age, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship, marital status, veteran's status, sexual preference, disability, genetic information, or any other class protected under state or federal law.
