About the Role

This position offers a dynamic opportunity to provide direct patient care at a proficient level within the YVMC PACU Same Day Surgery department. You will work in a technically complex environment, monitoring patients to maintain a safe atmosphere, optimize outcomes, and maximize available resources. The role requires performing and documenting pre- and post-procedure assessments, evaluations, and education for patients and their families.

You will be expected to respond to life-threatening situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols, handling critical and highly stressful scenarios with decisiveness, efficiency, and composure. Success in this role demands critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting. You will evaluate the learning needs of patients and families, providing education appropriate to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
