This position is part of the Emergency Room team at Lomas, a critical care unit dedicated to providing immediate, high-quality medical attention to patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatric patients. The team operates under a shared governance model that empowers staff to actively participate in strategic initiatives, quality improvement, and Magnet Recognition efforts. As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room, you will serve as a clinical leader and resource for nursing and technician staff during night shifts. Your role involves exercising independent judgment to assign personnel and care to patients, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient census, and supervising the delivery of care. You will act as a liaison between physicians, staff, patients, and families to facilitate communication, crisis intervention, and conflict management. Beyond clinical duties, you will be responsible for developing an efficient organizational structure, mentoring new personnel through preceptorship, and fostering a positive work environment that prioritizes patient safety and therapeutic care.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a comprehensive orientation process. Upon successful completion of preceptor training, new hires will assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities for new personnel. The position is subject to an annual contract and performance appraisal, with tuberculosis testing required upon hire and as needed thereafter.
