This Registered Nurse position serves as a clinical leader within the Coronary Care Subacute department, bridging the gap between direct patient care and operational management. The role is designed to ensure high-quality, safe care for a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric adults. As a key member of the team, you will not only provide direct clinical services but also exercise independent judgment to assign nursing personnel, manage shift schedules, and supervise the delivery of care across the designated shift.
You will act as a vital liaison between physicians, staff, patients, and families, facilitating communication and resolving conflicts to maintain a therapeutic environment. The position emphasizes a proactive approach to patient safety, encouraging staff to question current processes and actively involve patients in their own care plans. Additionally, you will serve as a role model and clinical resource, fostering a positive work environment that supports staff growth, teamwork, and adherence to shared governance models.
Operating within the UNMH framework, this role actively contributes to strategic initiatives such as quality improvement, Magnet Recognition, and TJC compliance. The department relies on a shared governance model to empower staff and drive organizational excellence. As a clinical leader, you will help maintain an efficient organizational structure, overseeing the selection, training, and development of nursing and technician staff to meet the dynamic needs of the patient census.
