This Registered Nurse position serves as a clinical leader within the CTH Rehab-Ortho Unit, operating primarily during night shifts. The role is designed to bridge clinical expertise with operational management, ensuring high-quality patient care across the full spectrum of age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.
As a key member of the nursing team, you will exercise independent judgment to assign nursing personnel and technicians to specific patients based on their needs and qualifications. Beyond direct patient care, you will act as a clinical resource and role model, fostering a positive work environment and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for supervising staff, managing shift schedules, and serving as a liaison between physicians, families, and other departments to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
We are committed to the UNMH shared governance model, empowering staff to actively participate in strategic initiatives such as quality improvement, Magnet Recognition, and recruitment efforts. Our team prioritizes patient safety through a proactive approach, encouraging all staff to question current processes and report potential risks. We strive to create a therapeutic environment where patients and families are actively engaged in their own care.
Candidates must be a graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program with at least two years of directly related experience. Essential credentials include a valid RN license in New Mexico (or reciprocal agreement) and BLS certification. While a Bachelor's degree is preferred, we value diverse backgrounds and offer non-essential preferences for bilingual candidates fluent in Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo.
To support your transition and growth, we offer a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and robust opportunities for professional development through educational programs and preceptorship roles. Compensation is determined by factors including experience, education, and organizational needs.
