We are actively seeking Registered Nurses to join our dedicated teams across several Medicine units, including SLA 3, SLA 4, V5N, V5W, Cel 3, and Cel 4 (Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry), as well as SLA 5 (Renal and Palliative Specialty Medicine) and V4W (Acute Care for Older Adults Medicine).
To be part of our organization, every employee is expected to understand and share in the YNHHS Vision, support our Mission, and live our core values: integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion. These values must guide our actions as individuals and professionals every day.
The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care according to unit policies and procedures. This role involves providing supervision to non-RN personnel and, when assuming the charge role, delegating and supervising unit activities. Nurses may be required to work on other nursing units based on the distribution of staff and patients to maintain a high level of service.
In this capacity, you will assess the patient's physical and psychosocial condition throughout the continuum of care, developing and communicating a plan of care that involves the patient, family, and healthcare team. You will coordinate this plan, evaluate its effectiveness, and revise it as needed. The role also includes planning and providing patient and family education, functioning as a preceptor to new staff, and serving as a charge nurse.
Specific competencies required for this position include demonstrating skill and knowledge in the care of neuro patients, neuro assessment, airway management, caring for tracheostomy patients, and assisting physicians during special neuro procedures. You will also be responsible for performing suctioning procedures and managing patients on ventilators or in halo braces.
