The Community Training Center operates within the Hospital and departmental framework to support operational components across a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. This position serves as a pivotal link between clinical practice and professional development. You will assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate both clinical and non-clinical educational programs. Your work ensures adherence to hospital policies while actively promoting patient safety by encouraging staff to question current processes and identify environmental risks.
As a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) practitioner, you will act as a change agent and consultant. You will collaborate with stakeholders to identify practice gaps, develop instructional curricula based on evidence-based practice, and utilize adult learning principles to create effective learning experiences. The role requires integrating ethics, leadership, and resource utilization to enhance the quality of instructional programs and support the professional growth of peers, students, and colleagues.
Candidates are encouraged to apply with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or a related discipline. Essential qualifications include three years of directly related experience and current RN licensure in New Mexico (or reciprocal agreement). Additional credentials such as BLS and age-appropriate instructor certifications are required within specific timeframes post-hire.
